How to slowly wean baby from bottle?
I have 2 one-year-old twins. They drink sippy cup throughout the day, but only when they nap and bedtime i give them baby bottle. I tried and it is SO HARD. They both cry so LOUD. I want to wean them off slowly, how do i do that. Thanks, any advice.

I would stop cold turkey. See how that works. Consistency is key. When I weaned my son off the bottle it took him 2 days to figure out I meant business. After that he accepted it. I didn’t have any other problems. Unfortunately kids are so different. What works for one might not work for another. Try giving them a sippy at night and nap too. That way they still get something to drink, but it’s not the bottle.
Something to think about: You’ll want to get rid of drinks at night and nap altogether before you start potty training or else you will have a lot of accidents at bed time. Good luck!

You should check out the La Leche League.

Here a link on their website, with tips on weaning:

I don’t know if there’s any way to do it slowly – cold turkey seems to work the best. Do they get milk in the bottles they take to bed? Or water? If you want to try to wean them slowly, I think I’d start by replacing the milk (if that’s what they currently get) with water – at least that way, you can brush their teeth (which you should be doing) before they go to bed and they won’t be depositing sugar on their teeth from the milk to sit on their teeth while they sleep.

Do they take a pacifier? They might accept one as a substitute to the bottle if they’re using the bottle as something to **** on anyway.

I waited til my son was two to take away his bottle at bedtime and naptime. One night I brought up a sippy cup of milk and he drank it while we read books. He didn’t even cry when I put him down without his bottle. Maybe your little ones just aren’t ready yet.

take them to the store and have them pick out a special bedtime sippy cup. let them pick a really special one just for bedtime and dont use it during the day.
if that doesnt work, you’ll have to go cold turkey. tell them its time to give the bottles to the babies. have them put the bottles into a bag and tell them that the are big kids and there are lots of poor babies out there that need bottles. Take the bag and hide it and eventually throw it away. But they think you took the bag and gave it away. when they beg for the bottle, tell them you gave them all to the babies so they cant have them.
and dont give a pacifier!! kids need to stop using them by 18 months at the latest, if you dont you run the risk of messing up thier teeth.
