i would go to a specific web site like the one below. i searched unique baby boy gifts, and got alot of good sites. if you dont want to buy online, you can always buy a blanket you like and find some one who embroiders. sewing shops would be a good place to start. they usually are full of grandma types that have embroidery mechines. or maybe even a cork board with names and numbers of people willing to lend out their service.

Go to wal mart to get one of those blankets..if you are willing to spend lots of money get him a blanket with a picture of his ultrasound picture on it.

and as for your friend.. takes lots of pictures of her and with her and make her a scrapbook of her pregnancy.
