Can someone give me a list of things people don’t normally get as gifts for a baby shower?

I think the car seat is a good idea. Maybe even bottles, if youre not breastfeeding. Family and friends will most likely buy diapers, clothes and blankets. After that I would save what money I could so that after the baby shower you can buy things that you didnt get.

I’d wait until after you have your shower to buy anything. You never know what people will give you and what you’ll want to return (giving you more free cash.)
People will send/bring you gifts after the baby is born too — that will be mostly clothes toys.
If you really feel the need to buy something buy a package of newborn, size one size two diapers. Or buy some gender neutral sleepers or onesies in size 3-6 months. Most people will buy you newborn or 0-3 clothes and you’ll want to have a few things in a bigger size. FYI: Gerber clothes tend to run really small.

I know the excitement you are feeling, but would honestly save your money until after you have the shower. This way you can buy things you registered for, but didn’t get. People may also give you money or gift cards that you can add to the $250 you already have, and maybe buy something on your list that is costly that no one got you. Like a highchair or those bassinet/playpen converter things.

Organizing containers like baskets, tubs, totes, etc…they also have a diaper changing organizer that holds the diapers, etc….saved my life!

wait till after that baby shower…you will have things that you will want to take back also…make a list of everything that is a must that you want for your baby and if you dont get it from the baby shower the go buy it after.

bottles and a ****** pump would be my suggestion. But then again I didn’t get anything off of my registry! LOL. also burp cloths (cloth diapers) your diaper bag, wipes, formula just in case you have a hard time with your milk coming in. I used soy milk, it is easier on the babies tummies. Dont worry you will still be able to ****** feed if you keep working at it. Its not easy teaching yourself and your newborn how to feed and eat, but youll get it in time! Crib sheets and a sheet protector (lots of crib sheets, diapers leak!) baby dental kit, and first aid kit and some baby tylenol and gas relief drops.
Sorry my list got outta hand. These were the things I had to go get. But def wait until after the shower!!! And maybe a newborn outfit, my son was 7lbs 7oz 19inch long and needed newborn clothes.

Bottles, nipples, pacifiers, Laundry detergent ( Dreft ) that is free of dyes and fragrance, just in case your little one has allergies. Baby wash cloths, towels. Baby bath tub. You usually get diapers and clothes at the baby showers so you might wanna get a bouncer and a swing too. Good Luck with your baby!!!

honestly it would be a great idea to wait until after the baby shower to see what things u still might need. at my baby shower the only things i didnt get were the big things(carseats, cribs, bassinet….etc.) but those things were given to me before and after. but i wound up getting A LOT of duplicates of the small things(i got 4 diaper bags).
the only thing i really need to buy when i have the baby is diapers, because he is measuring big and we don’t kno if he will fit into newborn diapers or size 1 or whatever….but my stepmoms friend bought me a jumbo package box of size 2 diapers(to jumpstart me).
i kno one thing you may want to buy more of yourself just in case, burp rags…..you can never have enough hats either…..
…….and maybe…..a couple of crib sheet sets. i only got 2 sets, but since my bf and i dont live together he has 1 set and i have 1 set.

Yeah, waiting until after the shower is a good idea. I know it’s hard though! One thing you might consider looking into is the crib matress(if it’s not coming with the crib). That’s a pretty big expense. Also, you may just get surprised at your shower. I wasn’t expecting much at mine, just the simple stuff, clothes, blankets… But I was so thankful to have recieved almost everything on my registry. Even the big stuff.
