will my dog feel unloved when baby comes?
hi..
im am due to have my first baby in 4 days, an im concered my little pug x shih tzu dog who is 2 years old will feel pushed out n unloved n maybe become naughty or sad!!
as it is he is the cutest little dog, he’s well behaved, very playful and loving but he really is my dog n follows me everywhere, i cant even go to the toilet without him sitting at my feet or walk out the room without him walkn by side.. my friends and family say i have made him this way as i have treated him like a baby since i got him 2 years ago!!
he has always slept on the bottom of my bed, i new i couldnt keep this up once the baby arrived so i got him a very comfy bed about 2 months ago n left it at the side of my bed which, but i now put it downstairs in the living room as i no i cant have him sleeping in my room becasue of the dog hair and baby will be in his moses basket in my room for 1st 3months. He doesnt seem to mind sleepin downstairs but guarenteed without fail he is back on my bed by 5-6am.
it makes me sad to think he will feel left out when i dnt have as much time to treat him like my baby when i have my real baby in a few days, it probably sounds silly but i dnt want him to feel sad!
iv bin letting him sniff around the babys things as i was advised but if anyone has any advice i would really appreciate it
thank u xxx

My bugg(boston terrier/pug)is the exact same way but if you could like snuggle with him or play with him after your child gos to bed or let him sleep on the bed he might feel really loved by that
Pugs are so cute !

Congratulations!
I think your dog will definitely feel left out, but only if you don’t pet him. You’ll be spending a lot of time with your baby, but don’t forget about your dog! ^.^
When the baby is born, you should probably let your dog check the new family member out. Have an awesome life, and love your dog!

i’ve read something off the site, that has the same problem as you
what they did was preparing the dog for the baby.
they carry a doll wrapped in blankets that would look like a baby.
and when the baby came they let the dog licked the baby from head to toe and see the baby every now and then.
and yeah, i don’t know the attitude of the breed of your dog but if he’s friendly to people well then it must be all right for your dog
